Stranger than fiction
Ildica's named after Ildica Deane-Drummond, her granny's cousin on the Travers side. Ildica Deane-Drummond's brother Anthony married Evangeline Boyd who we've just been told was known as ... Evie. So, there's a history of Evie Boyds in the Travers/Deane-Drummond family tree (part of which you can see here)!

Ildica and Evie home!
Whole family (!) home at lunchtime today. Evie slept all the way home in the car, and seems pretty relaxed in new surroundings. Feeding really well last night and today, and both mum and daughter are having an afternoon kip. More photos in Evie's album.

Evie doesn't like baths
Evie & Dik had a reasonable first nights sleep with the best sleeping done from 11.30 to 4am. She's been really good today as well, although saved her only real screaming for being bathed. Paedeatrician gave her a comprehensive once over, did some tests, says she's a good placid baby, so Dik says she gets that from me! Home tomorrow, so chaos will ensue then...

STOP PRESS!
Evie (short for Genevieve) Fern Boyd was born at 2.35am this morning at Christchurch Women's Hospital, a healthy 8lb girl. Mother exhausted but happy, after her waters broke shortly after the excitement of the All Blacks trouncing of the Wallabies on Saturday night. Watch this space for more news and photos...

Today is D-Day. As in Drop-Day. Grub is due today, although is keeping remarkably quiet. Even after a large curry last night ;-)
