Time for a change
Well, I've been at SunGard for 3 and a half years now, so I've decided it's time for a change. I'm finishing here on the 23rd December, taking a couple of weeks holiday and starting as a Senior Software Engineer with Trimble Navigation in January. Still software engineering obviously, but the end product very much directed at a completely different industry from SunGard's finance industry. The part of Trimble that I'll be working for provides GPS-based grade-control systems for the mining and construction industries - e.g. supporting road construction levelling down to tolerances of 3mm etc. I'll be working on the office desktop systems that support the embedded systems that operate on the graders/bulldozers.
