Brilliant - online Google Maps now supports KMZ files

Kids first night in a NZ tramping hut

We thought we'd introduce the kids to the pleasure of tramping to, and staying in, one of the many huts in the NZ outdoors. Hurunui Hut in Lake Sumner Forest Park seemed like a good option, since it's a modern 20 bunk hut, and with a 4WD, it's only about an hour's walk for little legs. The numbers of vehicles allowed in to this area at any one time is limited by DOC, which we hoped meant that there wouldn't be too many other people also staying the night. In the end there were only four others.
