While in Alexandra, I noticed quite a lot of “noise” in the Aurora Australis Facebook group on the 11th April about auroral activity, so headed out to find a dark spot and see what I could see.

E & I headed up to Carroll Hut for an overnight tramp on the Kelly Range above Otira in Arthurs Pass National Park.
E & another 100+ kids from Years 7 & 8 at St Martins Primary School headed to Glentui Meadows for 3 days of adventures.
A long Waitangi Day weekend produced a fantastic bit of summer weather with a family ride along the Hogs Back Track with the Maddigans on Waitangi Day itself, followed by a decent day tramp the next day up to Temple Basin in Arthurs Pass.
